Becoming a Global Category Leader: Six Questions with Tuomo Sievilä

At Agileday, we’re building more than software. We’re helping professional services firms operate smarter, grow faster, and connect the dots between people, pipeline, and performance. That kind of ambition calls for leaders who know how to scale what works and who aren’t afraid to challenge how things have always been done. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Tuomo Sievilä as our Chief Operating Officer.

Tuomo joins Agileday from Nasdaq-listed Digital Workforce Services Plc, where he helped grow ARR from €3 million to >€17 million, turned EBITDA from loss to profit, and led global delivery teams across the US, UK, Nordics, and Central Europe. Now, he's focused on helping Agileday grow into the category-defining platform for professional services operations.

Stepping into the role of COO, Tuomo shared why he believes Agileday is ready for its next chapter:

“Having worked in automation and AI-driven transformation for years, I’ve seen what it takes to scale in this space, and Agileday has all the right ingredients to become a global category leader,” said Tuomo Sievilä. “With a product built around people, a team that moves with clarity and pace, and a growing footprint in top-tier consulting firms, the potential is clear. I’m excited to help customers unlock value faster and to shape Customer Success to scale with them.”

We asked him six quick questions on leadership, AI, and what makes Agileday stand out.

You’ve spent years scaling international operations in fast-moving, tech-driven environments. What were the most transformative growth moments from your time at Digital Workforce?

Looking back at Digital Workforce, the most transformative growth moments were always tied to our team's collective wins. We faced intense competition and ambitious targets, but it was the collaborative spirit, the shared problem-solving, and the unwavering support for each other that truly drove our success. Another learning for me was that in fast-moving, tech-driven environments, the way of working must be inherently agile and adaptable.

Success hinges on a culture of continuous learning and iteration. Processes need to be streamlined for speed, with a focus on data-driven decision-making to quickly identify and respond to market shifts. Embracing experimentation and being comfortable with failure as a learning opportunity is critical. Collaboration and communication must be fluid and cross-functional, breaking down silos to foster innovation.

What drew you to Agileday, and why now?

I have had the pleasure to follow Agileday since day one and I have - since the start of the company - been deeply impressed by Mikko Virtanen’s ability to convey its unique value. Engaging with key team members,

I became increasingly certain of Agileday's potential: a truly groundbreaking product with vast global reach, a visionary roadmap for the future, and a team capable of executing that vision.

You’ve worked at the forefront of AI and automation for over a decade. Where do you see the biggest opportunity for professional services firms to use AI today?

When we talk about the value of AI, it really comes down to two key aspects. First, AI empowers us to achieve things that were once considered completely unattainable. It unlocks possibilities we hadn't even dreamed of. But just as importantly,

AI frees up human potential. It allows people to step away from routine tasks and truly shine in roles that require uniquely human skills, like creativity, strategic thinking, and building relationships.

For Professional Services firms, this means AI becomes a powerful tool to not only enhance their service delivery but also to significantly improve their ability to understand and solve the challenges their customers face.

Some leaders talk about category leadership. You’ve said Agileday will become one. What makes you so confident?

My confidence comes from clear evidence. During my interviews, I reviewed competitive data and spoke directly with recent customers. The results are compelling:

Agileday consistently outperforms in neutral market comparisons. The challenge is simply that Agileday remains an undiscovered gem for many.

What does great Customer Success mean to you - especially for global firms using Agileday to run operations?

Agileday is crucial to how Professional Services companies create value. So, it's vital that we deliver on what Agileday promises - from the moment they start using it to when it becomes their main tool for day-to-day operations. Customer Success means keeping that promise, consistently.

What’s one thing about your background, personal or professional, that people might be surprised to learn?

With a background in Telecommunications engineering, you might be surprised to learn that my deepest fascination is the human element; exploring the intricate ways people think, act, and connect.
